Former Nanook Dean Fedorchuk Accepts Head
Coaching Position in Europe
Former Nanook Player Dean Fedorchuk has accepted
the position as Head Coach for the Odense Bulldogs of the Denmark
Elite League. Fedorchuk had recently completed his second season
as a player with Odense.
Fedorchuk explains how the position became available.“The
team approached me about being the Director of Player Development-
as an Assistant Coach/Player position with club. I reviewed the
status of the club and made a proposal and presentation to management.
They were impressed with what they read, and after some more discussion
the position of Head Coach was offered.”
"Ever since Dean came here two years ago, we
have known that this relationship could develop into something more.
From day one, he has shown the desire to build something new as
a player, and this possibility has always been at the back of our
minds”, explains General Manager, Ole Andersen about the appointment.
Fedorchuk was a 3 time Nanook MVP, and was also
selected as an All American and Hobey Baker Finalist for the College
Hockey Player of the Year. Upon completion of his collegiate career
at University of Alaska Fairbanks, Fedorchuk has played professionally
for 14 years, including 7 years in Denmark. Over the 7 years in
Denmark he has been a part of a League Championship in 2006, as
well as several individual awards including Playoff MVP, All League
Team, and 4 Time Leading Goal Scorer.
