FAHA SPRING SEASON 3 ON 3 GUIDELINES
- 5
minute warm up, 24-minute running clock period. 2 teams on the ice will then change
sides and everyone will play until the remainder of time has run out.
- Squirt
and Peewee divisions will change on the fly. Mite will sound horn (or whistle)
every two minutes for line change.
- In
Squirt and Peewee’s when a goal is scored or a penalty has been whistled play
is stopped and will resume with a face-off. In Mite the only face-offs will take
place at the beginning of a new shift.
After a goal, penalty, or in the event that the goalie has frozen the
puck, the play will be whistled, after which the ref will then throw the puck
back into play.
- When
the puck enters the neutral zone a player may retrieve it and pass it back
into the game but MAY NOT play the puck while in the neutral zone.
- Division
above mites must supply a coach or volunteer, with USA Hockey insurance (coach
would be better) that is willing to skate in the neutral zone to keep the puck
in play. All on-ice personnel must wear a HECC certified helmet with chin
strap properly fastened.
- When
a player receives a penalty he/she will sit on the bench for ONE shift. Player
is replaced with another player so that 3vs3 continues. 3 infractions on one team will result
in a penalty shot for the opposition. (in the event of a penalty shot, play
will resume off of the shot)
- There
are no icing or off sides calls for cross-ice games.
- There
will be no scores kept and no end of the season awards/ tournaments.
- Mites
will play with a blue puck and Squirts and above will play with a black puck.
- The
Bantam/Midget Division will play full-ice games under USA Hockey rules with a
5 minute warm-up and 3 - 17 minute running clock periods. Penalties will assessed and served per USA Hockey rules.
